Wayfound ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of families who use our platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and authentication credentials through our authentication provider (Clerk).
Family profile: You provide information about your child including name, date of birth, diagnoses, location (state and county), current services, and insurance type. This information is used solely to personalize your experience and calculate program eligibility.
Documents: You may upload documents such as IEPs, IHSS notices, denial letters, medical evaluations, and other records. These documents are stored securely and analyzed by AI to provide personalized guidance.
Conversations: Your chat conversations with the Wayfound navigator are stored to provide continuity and improve your experience.
Usage data: We collect basic usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns to improve the product.
Wayfound is designed to be safe for families of all immigration statuses. We clearly label every program with whether it affects immigration status. We do not report immigration information to any agency. Your use of Wayfound cannot be used against you in any immigration proceeding.
Your data is stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure:
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS 1.2+). Access to production systems is restricted to authorized team members only.
Your family profile, documents, and conversation history are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated data within 30 days, including documents, conversation history, and family profile information.
You can delete individual documents or conversations at any time from within the app. Deleted data is removed from our systems, including any AI-generated analysis and document embeddings.

Wayfound is designed for parents and guardians to use on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. All child information is provided by the parent or guardian account holder.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your information. We do not sell personal information.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Continued use of Wayfound after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
